24,979,602 OGI burned

At 18:48 UTC today, in slot 440,320,128, 24,979,602.180555 OGI were burned. At $0.0007294, the price at the time of writing, that is about $18,220 of supply destroyed. The account holding the tokens was emptied and then closed.

Supply at genesis was 1,000,000,000. It now reads 975,020,369.015545. Today's burn removed 2.498% of the total, permanently.

The tokens came from the project's own holdings. The treasury was not touched. Validators are paid out of swap fees earned by the protocol-owned liquidity position, as described in the token chapter, and that mechanism is exactly what it was yesterday.

Burns will continue on a regular basis. Each one will be posted here with its transaction hash and the supply figure it produced, so nothing on this page has to be taken on trust.

Everything above is checkable now. The mint is 12SFro5AeU3z4b3exEpLczbwcm49EvwU312j1JvB5ogi. Its mintAuthority is null and so is its freezeAuthority, which means nothing burned can ever be reissued and no balance can be frozen. getTokenSupply against any Solana RPC returns the current figure. If this page and the chain disagree, the chain is right.
