At 22:29 UTC on 18 September, in slot 448,218,555, 4,519,851.501455 OGI were burned. At $0.0007891, the price at the time of writing, that is about $3,567 of supply destroyed. The account holding the tokens was emptied and then closed, the same way as the two burns before it.
Supply now reads 968,339,563.155738, down from 972,859,565.517791 after the burn on 24 August. Today's burn accounts for all of that fall but 150.86 OGI, which other holders burned in between. Cumulatively, 31,660,436.844262 OGI have been removed since genesis, which is 3.166% of the original 1,000,000,000.

The three project burns total 31,658,134.235410 OGI. The remaining 2,302.608852 of everything removed since genesis came from burns by other holders, which the chain records just as permanently.
Where the tokens came from
As with every burn so far, the tokens came from the project's own holdings and the treasury was not touched. All three were executed from the same address, BeDYJBY3vUG9WG1eKQkARokVGNJJBHr6gXw1rkCmVwXv, out of the same token account, which is closed after each burn and its rent returned.
Validators are paid out of swap fees earned by the protocol-owned liquidity position, described in the token chapter, and that mechanism is unaffected by any of this. The network has the same. The project has less.
The format holds
The first post in this series said burns would continue on a regular basis and that each one would be posted here with its transaction hash and the supply figure it produced. This is the third, and the ledger above will grow with every one that follows.
